After much research and a great deal of time from when I began back in 2013 to try and understand the human form to the greatest extent that I can I’ve finally completed the arduous process of finishing the écorché model. This was important to me as I wanted to have a very clear and distinct understanding of what it is that makes up the human form.
During my research I have been fortunate enough to have had many references to look to, The books that have helped me most have been;
As well as that I’ve also been fortunate enough to work with anatomical experts who have helped to provide me with resources (most notably Thieme) for understanding the skeletal and muscle system.
On top of that another great reference that came in handy for me was 3D Total’s male figure
And naturally one of the best methods to help me understand human form has been through life drawing which I try to do at least once a week.
If your curious as to how how I went about this It simply with zspheres being placed over the skeleton basemesh as subtools and I would then z-remesh whatever shape I was creating until I was happy with it’s placement
Here’s a preview of my workflow
